…barely a week into Champions and already the Twitter spam from various players’ accomplishments in-game has risen to annoying and pointless levels. Why don’t they give superheroes the ability to telemarket us while they’re at it?
Who could have predicted this? Oh, yeah. Me. And anyone with a little bit of common sense.
Strange, mine hasn’t been tweeting and I set it up and everything. Maybe it’s for the best.
Twitter needs to add a filter for recipients to block third party automated tweets.
I take that back, it seems to be working because as I sit here at my desk at work I can see that my 11 y/o son is leveling his toon named Death Gate. I’m so jealous!
I didn’t know that is was an account wide feature.
I like it, myself.
You’re just a grumpy old man!
@ZenoZTankof Do keep in mind that once you sync your twitter account to your CO account, your twitter settings are per character.
So everyone spams like crazy with their first character, says “Oh heck, sorry, I’ll turn that off.” then spams like crazy with their second character and says “Oh heck, I have to turn that off for EVERY character, sorry!” and then you never hear from them again.
There’s a lot right now because everyone is rolling new characters and from 1-6 you’re leveling or completing perks every couple minutes. But after that, it’s pretty neat to see a “Yeti Yesterday has completed Burnside Binging” and you think “What’s that?” then you go look it up and find out there’s a perk for killing 100 Burnside Ghosts in the Desert.
Which there is, but it isn’t called Burnside Binging…I don’t remember what it is.
Good god man, don’t give them ideas!!!
The CO spam hasn’t been too bad for me so far, presumably because a) I don’t follow a whole lot of people and b) most of the ones I *do* follow are sensible folks and have turned the spam down as much as possible.
I didn’t even know you could set this up. Maybe I’ll sign myself up, just to annoy the crap out of people! I think at first, people will just be shocked to see me tweeting. I’m a grumpy old man when it comes to that particular micro-blogging/social-network experiment.
@Pete S
Ah, I see. Thanks.
I love the Twitter features and the character updates would be useful on a Twitter account dedicated to the character, but oh geez all of the options are on by default once you’ve setup Twitter in-game.
When I first tried the Twitter commands during Beta, it didn’t have all of the spammy update features and I felt horrible after I saw my feed once those kicked in.
I just want my settings from my main character to automatically be the default for subsequent characters. Not just for the /socialmedia settings, but for everything.
I saw it coming a mile of too, no surprises there. The thing that bugs me about it is that you can’t see other people Tweets in game, kinda defeating the whole point of the 2-way communication thing.
