A Fashionable Mass Murderer Am I
I’ll admit it, I’m pretty nuts over creating the perfect outfit for my LOTRO characters. So much so that I chafe under the two-outfit restriction that the game currently has. Anyway, in addition to my armor and an outfit that incorporates a long trenchcoat and a duster, today I created the little number you see over to your right. I’m a bit proud of how it turned out, so I wanted to share.
I wanted Syppi to have an outfit that was somewhere between an armored tank and traveling clothes, something where she’d look good in kicking butt and taking names. So I decided on piecing together leather-looking medium armor pieces into something stylish.
I particularly like the pants (I think they’re level 50ish Westernesse whatevers), and the black elvish gloves fit perfectly. Add some serious boot straps, a white rose circlet, and matching leather shoulderpads, and I was almost ready to go.
Finally, I ponied up for a few jars of black dye to make it all connect. I’m of the personal opinion that there are only a handful of dyes that really work with most outfits, since you can’t dye the whole thing, just parts. And black, hey, black goes with everything. That’s probably why it’s 130 silver apiece.
Anyway, what do you think?

Looks great! I’m guessing you’re like me and have more “costume” items in your bank than is considered healthy…
Awesome! I spend countless hours customizing my knight in Runes of Magic. It’s a really deep and fun feature. On top of all the cool special stat-less costumes sold in the Item Mall, any item in-game can be switch, or colored in a couple areas. Come to think of it, I think I’ll make a small video showing some of the features.
Have fun in Middle-Earth, and I’m sure I’ll see you there soon
Easily my favourite outfit ever in an mmo is the patchwork coat I picked up for my Loremaster. You can see it here http://mindbendingpuzzles.blogspot.com/2009/08/meet-ceoldir.html Scroll down to get the back view for full effect.
Its just a random no stat drop from some mob but the colourful shabbiness of it just fits my vision of a Loremaster as itinerant scholar better than any other outfit I have seen in Lotro.
Nice outfit!
Getting together cool looking outfits is definitely a large part of the draw in LoTRO for me. It beggers the imagination that WoW still doesn’t have an appearance slot system or dye.
I recently spent an afternoon smithing and dying a full sett of plate strictly for one of my character’s appearance slots.
