Bio Break

Picture of the Day

Well, gee, who WOULDN’T want to learn about my failure?  I’ll get right on that quest, thanks!

  1. So now we have scripted failure? I always thought failure wasn’t an option.

  2. Failure is ALWAYS an option!

  3. Yeah I remember a similar reaction to that statement. Maybe an it’s odd turn of phrase, how about, ‘you should inform him of the unfortunate events that occured’, better?

The next sentence in that quest text is just as bad,’I believe you said he dwells at the Vanha-väki place called Celondim, far to the south and west in the Blue Mountains.’, maybe they put it in case someone choose that moment to give up on the book, and wouldn’t remember who Eglamir was when they worked up the motivation again, or maybe the character (developer) doesn’t think the players are the sharpest tool in the box. At least you can laugh it off, but in a hollow sort of way. :)

LOTRO does have some rather odd quests. Reminds me of the one in Moria (eastern Durin’s way) where you tell a story to a statue & fountain. How does a fountain listen to a story anyway?

    Rindan asked:

How does a fountain listen to a story anyway?

    Answer:

Quietly. With the odd burble of appreciation.
