Quote of the Day
“I admit it: it’s hard to look beyond what you’ve always known and seriously consider other implementations. But this is an exciting time to make MMOs because, unlike 2002, if you find a better way to do something, most players will follow along. Very few, percentage-wise, will get hung up on the old way of doing things.”

The keyword here being “better”.
I’m not sure I agree with that. “Most” players implies a majority, and unfortunately a majority of MMO players are WoW players, and I doubt a majority of WoW players will follow something that’s drastically different from WoW.
Now, if you narrow it to “most non-WoW players” I’d say that’s a true statement
And I say that as someone who has failed to resist the siren call of friends in WoW and is playing again. Too many people I play with in WoW just don’t see any value in games that are different from WoW. I . . . don’t get that, but it’s definiately a prevalent point of view.
