Bio Break

Prepping for PAX (again)

A day and a half: That’s how long I have to get ready to head out to PAX East from Thursday through Monday, and I’m totally not ready.

Back in my single days, taking trips was ridiculously easy — just pack up, buy a ticket and go (and not necessarily in that order).  Now it’s an elaborate production as I have to make sure the family is squared away, my job projects are done in advance, and a hundred other small details are taken care of.

I have the same mixture of anticipation and anxiety surrounding this trip as I did last September.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m pumped as all get out, but crowds and travel details and the million things I want/need to do there have my head swirling.  My wife’s been really supportive that I go do this, just to have a bit of time away from hectic life (to a hectic convention?), so she gets props for it.

I’m very much looking forward to connecting (and reconnecting) with many internet friends, from fellow bloggers to guildmates to my Massively coworkers to developers and probably one or two Bio Break readers who will be hunting me for sport.  I have interviews, panels, parties and plenty of games to check out, so I don’t anticipate being bored.

Anyway, if you’re heading to PAX, please say hi if you see me (I’m the short Italian with the fauxhawk hairdo) and then give me your gear.  I need to level up.

Oh!  And if you’re still making plans, any MMO bloggers, devs and players are welcome to join us for Bloggers & Breakfast on Saturday morning!  I hope it’ll be a nice relaxing way to start the day, and the more the merrier.

  1. Doh! The combination of the early hour and other responsibilities keeps me from making that breakfast but maybe I’ll catch you around the con elsewhere. Hope you have a good time.

Anyone have Skype or Facetime on their laptop? I’ll totally video chat into your breakfast on Saturday if it can be arranged! :P
