Imperial Agents go to the GAP
Because BioWare apparently waits for me to talk about things before posting on them — we have a deal where they seek my permission and I get to feel like I’m king of the castle — today the studio finally released the Imperial Agent progression video:
I really like these videos because they have a threefold purpose. First, they show off some of the class’ signature moves. Second, they give you a loose idea of how each advanced class looks and functions as they level up. And third, they’re entertaining little vignettes.
The Agent video confirms my decision to make this my first — and primary — class. I not only really dig the look on display, but there’s just such variety here. There’s some melee, some gadgets, short-range attacks, knife-throwing, stealthing, long-range sniping, healing, and so on. While the sniper may have the edge on the fashion, the operative is almost as cool with the trenchcoat and related gear.
Also, I guess we learned today that the early access that comes with pre-orders is going to net us “up to” five days of pre-launch playtime. The “up to” is the huge question mark here, because BioWare hasn’t laid out how this is going to work, or what the cutoffs are for each phase of the access. We don’t know if they’re just going to make us wait and send out notices once they notice that X number of people have left the starting zones, or if it’s going to be like “you pre-ordered on the first day, you get the full five days; you pre-ordered days two through five, you get four days” and so on. I have a feeling that no matter what the company reveals — even though, in the long run, it’s not a huge deal — people are going to be really, really upset. I guarantee you every pre-ordered player feels as though he or she deserves the full five days, and apparently that ain’t gonna happen.
But I’m totally cool with getting in before the 20th, whenever that may be. I just want to snag my names, get the game up and running, and have a little time to play before the Christmas traveling rush.

Yup, saw this vid and it cemented my wanting to be a Sniper AC.
That “up to” is kinda weirding me out too. They’re probably trying to limit how many people per day join up during the early access so as to not melt down their servers or have long queue times, but still…. you pay for the pre-order due to it saying “early access” you expect to know what that actually means, don’t you?
