NBI: Lord Dreadblade approacheth

Welcome to the second week of the Newbie Blogger Initiative!  If you’re still on the fence about starting up a new blog, hopefully seeing all the folks who have taken the plunge recently has given you inspiration to do so.  If nothing else, you’ll be in great company!

Here’s another handful of newish blogs to read today:

  1. EVE All Night: And party ev-er-y day!
  2. Dreadblade: A newer WoW blog that’s recently moved to WordPress
  3. Priest All The Things: This may be my new favorite blog title
  4. Brazokie’s Blog Space: A blogger who’s writing to master English as a second language
  5. Warp to Zero: An EVE Blogger who wants to warp into your heart
  6. Altaclysmic: A grumpy dwarf talks about WoW

Bio Break blogger tip of the day: Never, ever hotlink images into your post.  Hotlinking is where you cut-n-paste the URL of the image instead of just saving and uploading the image yourself.  It’s not only bad form, but it can lead to trouble.  Early on I was doing this out of ignorance, and someone changed one of the pictures I was hotlinking to a porn image.  You don’t need that kind of publicity.

A few advice posts from fellow bloggers: The importance of social media, Submit a guest post, The best advertising payouts (Wadstomp), General advice (Beau Hindman), Why you should blog (Games and Geekery), Themes and widgets (StarShadow)

  2. Thank you for the kind mention! I write mostly on MMOs but a few offline games do make their way in there too. Like when I get a craving for creating houses in The Sims 3 :)

And thank you for the tip. I’ve been linking mine from my google album to be safe. Its pretty easy and works with blogger.

It’s been fun meeting the blogs and writers and to see that I am not the only one that has english as a second language in the group. Thank you for organizing the NBI!
