NaNoWriMo: An Announcement

Homecoming: A Comedy of Errands, my novel, is now complete.  50,573 words!

I am elated, zonked and a bit sad.  NaNo is a tremendous time of the year, and I’m terrifically happy that I did it once more.

My wife hasn’t finished her novel, but she’s over 52,000 words right now and still clicking.  We honestly can’t wait to read each other’s works.

  1. Grats man.

Hate to say it, but I dropped out myself at about 17k words. Wasn’t so much the writing as the lack of planning. I wound up putting so many “I’ll fix it in the rewrite” things that I lost interest in the idea. Still was a great experience, and I’ll plan better for next year.

  2. Big gratz Syp!

I only wish that I were able celebrate such an event also. Life decided to throw me in the deep/hectic end the moment the event started so I actually never got around to even beginning >_< . To say I feel disappointed would be an understatement. Still, everything is ironed out now, and I plan on writing the story I had in mind, even though NaNoWriMo is almost over. Will definitely be entering (and actually participating) next year.

  3. Congratulations Syp!

My god you can write man! I know I have a very tough work schedule, I work in a 24/7 news channel. But I am honestly envious of the sheer volume of writing you are capable of.

    Great job dude!

  4. Grats, Syp!

I just want to thank you for posting this on your site. This is where I found out about NaNo. I completed my first 50k and still have some work to do before I can say I reached the end of my novel. I have never…ever…written this much and I love it!

    Grats and thanks again!

  5. Congratulations !
I’ve managed to write something like 9.5k words this year. 3.5k more than last year but still light years away from the goal. Not giving up just yet, though !

  6. RAR! Well done both! (Actually I wrote Qwkk sibw virg, which goes to show that I’m not as much of a touch-typist as I like to think I am, but it does sound vaguely Scandinavianly congratulatory too, so it’s ok.)
