Returning to Middle-earth

I’ll admit that my interest in the pre-production saga surrounding The Hobbit got old after a while, but my interest is certainly re-kindled with the release of a 10 minute behind-the-scenes look at the sets and props that Peter Jackson just released.

It’s absolutely bizarre to think that it’s been an entire decade since Fellowship of the Ring came out, and longer than that if you consider the actual making of the films.  It’s even more bizarre to see the sets re-created for The Hobbit (such as Bag End and Elrond’s crib) under the supervision of Jackson.  The whole project has a “let’s get the band back together for one last shindig” feel to it, and I’m digging it for sure.

Peter Jackson is starting to take on a bit of a hobbity appearance again. Coincidence? I think not.

Prequels are so last decade. They should have just made LotR 4.
