To quote Lawrence of Denim (and Felt)

“And in the ’70s there were Osmonds
    There were lots of Osmonds
There were lots of little Osmonds
    Everywhere everywhere everywhere”

    Much the same vibe.

You forgot that “doing equally good at stuff” is going to have yellow spell effects while “do good at stuff” has green spell effects.

More likely to be “do good at stuff” vs “do equally good but get mocked and votekicked because the forums say you’re doing it wrong”

The more Blizzard ‘improve’ their talent system, the more Rift’s soul system stands out as their USP…

Eventually, talent trees won’t be trees at all, just a straight line of skills that you have to remember to select when you level. In the expansion after that, they’ll just make them automatic.

Once the trees don’t interact (as they currently do), Blizzard will be free to add as many new trees as they want, each with a slightly different play style. Of course they’ll probably charge real money for some of them. 🙂

I would say this will be the future of SWTOR as well, but isn’t this basically the system TOR will have at launch?
