I’ve come to realize that part of my pre-launch rituals with any anticipated MMO is to get into its podcasts.  It’s odd, because I don’t listen to too many podcasts (mostly a time issue), but I find they soothe the beast of excitement within me at times like this.  Maybe it’s because sometimes you just want to hear other people who are as juiced up as you are on the hype, or maybe it’s because there’s a lack of hands-on info.

In any case, I’ve downloaded an assortment of Guild Wars 2 podcasts and am sorting them out in terms of quality.  Any favorites or suggestions?

Of course there’s GuildCast (now over on GameBreaker.TV) which does a fine job most of the time – sometimes they get a bit too timid about speculating or just giving their opinions on current news – but usually good discussions.
I would also recommend GuildWars INsider
This site has an excellent podcast of their own (hosted by Seven) but also includes links for the Talk Tyria podcasts which provide a different flavor. Personally, I’m a fan of the GWI podcasts with Seven and his guests, and I would especially encourage anyone interested in GW2 to give a listen to the Roundtable, Ree Soesbee, and Jeff Grubb interview episodes. All three episodes were simply fantastic interviews/discussions with ArenaNet DEVs.
There are only 11 episodes so far of the GWI podcast (so it’s easy to catch up from the beginning.)

Does Guildcast even have an audio only stream anymore? Ever since they switched, I switched my podcatching app towards the site they recommended on Gamebreaker.TV and its received nothing. I know episodes have gone on, but I’m not sure they are audio only… which is a definite bummer as it kills it for me.

Hopefully there is someone out here who can prove me wrong and possibly point me towards a link that works. 🙂

Other then that, yeah, I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about GWI, except they do tend to be a little lengthy…
