The Secret World’s quest design lauded

Passing along this Extra Credits video that discusses quest design in general and TSW’s quests specifically.  This is one of the reasons why we love this game so much:

“[The Secret World] does more to deliver powerful narrative moments and immersive experiences than MMOs with far bigger budgets and far better graphics.”

    Far bigger budgets, yup.
Far better graphics? I have yet to see such an MMO exist.

Yeah I don’t agree with the graphics comment either, but Extra Credits has never been much of a huge MMO fan anyway.

Great video! The main reasons I purchased TSW was for it’s questing and atmosphere. They make it easy to want to complete all the quests in a zone before moving on. It is strange how the industry has huddled around those 5 types that he mentions. The examples he gives from EQ would be welcomed with open arms from this gamer. Yes, sites would spoil it but I don’t think that’s a good enough excuse to not put them in a game.

One thing I’d mention is that you are not a fan of ESO – but they deliver quests almost exactly as this video (and part 2) represent.

Great find on the video though! Found me a new blog to follow (yours!) and now I want to find more about this Extra Credit group. 🙂
